Description of Phylloneta sisyphia
Physical Characteristics
Strongly resembles Phylloneta impressa.
Female 2.5 to 5.5 mm.
Abdomen yellowish with a pattern of slanting black spots and white stripes and sometimes reddish spots on top.
Carapace yellowish with a black median band and a broad black band along the edge with radial stripes to the centre.
Legs and palps yellowish or reddish brown with dark annulations.
Male 2.5 to 4.5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.
Habitat
In sunny areas in plants and shrubs. In the mountains up to 2,300 m.
Distribution
Common in the whole of Europe.
Period
Spring and summer.
