Description of Anyphaena accentuata

Physical Characteristics

Female 5 to 9 mm.
Abdomen light brown to yellow-brown with 4 distinctive triangular black spots on top and small dark spots along the sides. The rear is dark.
Carapace light brown to yellow-brown with two dark, notched longitudinal bands and a thin white border.
Legs light brown to yellow-brown with dark spots and annulations and black spines.
Palps light brown to yellow-brown with black spines.

Male 4 to 7 mm.
Markings almost identical to the female, but often darker in colour.

Habitat

Trees and shrubs.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

All year.
