Description of Glyptogona sextuberculata

Physical Characteristics

Female 5.5 to 6.5 mm.
Abdomen remarkably broad and with six characteristic tubercles on the edge. Colour light beige to brownish.
Carapace dark brown with a light median band with a dark brown centre.
Legs and palps light-dark annulated.

Male 4 to 4.5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

Warm, dry, mountainous areas in low plants. The web hangs very low to the ground.

Distribution

Occurs in the Mediterranean area.

Period

Spring and summer.
