Description of Cheiracanthium erraticum

Physical Characteristics

Female 7 to 9 mm.
Abdomen orange-brown with a dark cardiac mark and a dark red band behind.
Carapace brown with two deeply notched dark brown bands along the side and a dark median band.
Legs and palps greenish brown.

Male 5 to 7 mm.
Abdomen greenish brown with a dark red cardiac mark and a dark band behind, the both of which are yellow fringed.
Carapace orange-brown.
Legs greenish brown, slightly darker towards the end.
Palps greenish brown to orange brown with dark tarsi.

Habitat

Between grass and other low plants.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

Spring and summer. Females until autumn.
