Description of Drassodes lapidosus

Physical Characteristics

Female 9 to 15 mm.
Abdomen shiny yellow-brown to grey-brown haired.
Carapace shiny yellow-brown to grey-brown haired. Eye area and chelicerae darker.
Legs and palps shiny yellow-brown to grey-brown haired.

Male 6 to 13.5 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female. Remarkably long black chelicerae.

Habitat

In a variety of areas under stones, moss and other undergrowth. Sometimes in gardens and in and around houses.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe.

Period

Spring, summer and autumn.
