Description of Nomisia aussereri

Physical Characteristics

Strongly resembles Nomisia exornata.
Female 7 to 12 mm.
Abdomen brown to yellow-brown haired with some black spots and anteriorly a black area.
Carapace light grey to light brown haired with some black spots, two darker stripes on top and posteriorly a black area.
Legs grey to brown haired with thin black annulations.
Palps gray to brown haired.

Male 6.5 to 8 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

In dry, sunny areas such as grass hills or dunes.

Distribution

Occurs in Southern and South Eastern Europe. Locally not rare.

Period

Summer and autumn.
