Description of Olios argelasius

Physical Characteristics

Female 15 to 17 mm.
Abdomen yellow-brown to grey-brown with a faint grey cardiac mark and faint grey chevrons behind.
Carapace yellow-brown to orange-brown.
Legs and palps yellow-brown to orange-brown with black spots and dark metatarsi and tarsi.

Male 9 to 11 mm.
Markings and colours almost identical to the female.

Habitat

In hot, sparsely vegetated areas under stones, on walls and rocks and in orchards.

Distribution

Quite common in the Mediterranean area.

Period

The portrayed specimens are found in May / June. No further information about the period is known.
