Description of Anelosimus vittatus

Physical Characteristics

Female 3 to 4 mm.
Abdomen white, brown or reddish brown with a broad, wavy dark median band.
Carapace yellowish brown with a dark brown median band and a thin dark band along the edge.
Legs yellow-brown with reddish brown annulations. These are clearer than in A. pulchellus.
Palpen yellow-brown.

Male 3 to 4 mm.
Markings almost identical to the female, but a lot darker.

Habitat

In trees and shrubs.

Distribution

Common in the whole of Europe. Rare in the mountains.

Period

Spring and summer.
